Underreporting Discrimination cases and why we need Data Equality

Discrimination often remains invisible not because it does not exist, but because it goes unreported. Fear, shame, lack of trust in institutions, and complex reporting procedures prevent many victims from seeking justice, leaving official data far from the reality experienced in everyday life.

The DATA EQUALITY project addresses this critical gap by promoting inclusive and standardized approaches to collecting, analysing, and exchanging equality data across Europe. By strengthening cooperation between law enforcement agencies, judicial bodies, and civil society organisations, the project aims to make reporting processes more accessible, improve institutional responses, and support evidence-based policies that foster equality, accountability, and more inclusive societies for all.
